The CDC has classified prescription drug abuse as an epidemic.

Here is the link to a fact-filled article about rapidly growing prescription drug abuse in America.  The article was posted on The White House website (whitehouse.gov), and lists many facts published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The CDC has classified prescription drug abuse in the United States as ... an epidemic.

There is a chart that shows the number of deaths from homicides, gunshot deaths, suicides, drug-induced deaths and motor-vehicle fatalities.  What order would you put those five "causes of death" in?

Do e-cigarettes reduce cigarette consumption?

The publication JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) Internal Medicine published an article that "finds that there is no association between e-cigarette use and reduced cigarette consumption."  Here is the link to an article that discusses those findings.  Decide for yourself.  Let us know what you think.

An opening post from Tom Hitt

Good morning.  My name is Tom Hitt.  I am the developer and owner of CapturedDiscipline® and the CapturedDiscipline® safes.  The intent of this blog is to talk about the concept of CapturedDiscipline® and the CapturedDiscipline® safes.

Our goal is for this blog to become a lively, factual and ongoing discussion about the various aspects of CapturedDiscipline® and the CapturedDiscipline® safes.

We will also post a growing collection of interesting and informative articles (from reliable sources) about the multitude of unhealthy (sometimes fatal) habits that we all are exposed to.

Thank you for reading.  We intend to make this blog interesting enough, maybe even fascinating enough, that you will want to come back on a regular basis.

What kinds of habits is the CapturedDiscipline® Safe designed to overcome?

You name it, really - the CapturedDiscipline® Safe has been used by customers to overcome many undesireable habits. For example:
  • reduce or quit smoking or other tobacco product use
  • lose weight and keep the weight off
  • moderate or quit drinking
  • quit drinking, especially during pregnancy
  • reduce or stop abuse of prescription and non-prescription drugs
  • reduce or quit gambling
  • moderate or quit an "addiction" to television
  • moderate or quit an "addiction" to the Internet
  • moderate or quit an "addiction" to cellphone or other mobile devices
  • reduce or stop abuse of credit cards - spend less money
  • save more money
  • and much more ...
A unique feature of the CapturedDiscipline® Safe is that when the lid is closed and locked, there is enough space for an electrical cord (e.g. to your TV or computer), but when the plug is put inside, it can't be pulled out. This allows you to secure a wide variety of electrical devices.

We also have a product specifically designed to help people save money, it's called the CapturedDiscipline® Piggy Bank Safe. With the exception of a Deposit Slot on the right side, the Piggy Bank Safe has all the same features and is identical to the standard CapturedDiscipline® Safe which has been marketed successfully for over 6 years. Items inside your timer-locked safe cannot be extracted through the narrow slot.
